Seaton, Pickering: The Latest News

Team Rajpal has been busy serving the Durham Region since 2003. As one of the last affordable areas near the GTA, it has been the site of some exciting developments over the years.
However, nothing compares to what has been happening with Seaton in Pickering. When this new community first became a gleam in a developer’s eye, we knew one thing for certain; we’re all in for it, all the way!
Today, our offices are located right in the heart of the action on Brock Road, in the heart of Seaton Centre. We also have agents who live here who can’t sing the praises of this new community loudly enough! So today, let’s take a look at the latest happenings in Canada’s biggest and most exciting development in history.

Family Comes First in Seaton
Whatever your family structure may look like, the top developers in the GTA are on it. We’ve worked with countless builders in the past, and no one has adapted to the growing needs of today’s family quite like those in Seaton. We love how they don’t assume what people want – they ask what is most important to those coming into the area.
For example, a recent trend is multiple generations living together under one roof. If that’s your situation, the spacious square footage and well-thought-out floorplans will feel as though they are designed just for you – because they are!
For the futuristic-minded buyer, many properties even come with EV chargers. For the downsizer or first-time buyer, a series of modern condos and townhouses enable you to live life to the fullest at a far lower cost than in Toronto – believe it or not some of the townhouses even have a bedroom & full washroom on the main floor! Reputable developers such as Mattamy Homes, Chestnut Hills, and Fieldgate, just to name a few are all hard at work to meet the needs of families of all sizes, both now and in the future.

Schools and Opportunities Abound
Setting your child up for success is the top priority for today’s family, which means access to education is essential. Two schools are already approved in the southern part of Seaton, and more sites are in the planning stages. Both the Durham District School Board and the Durham District Catholic School Board have schools slated to open as early as 2026.
Opportunities begin with excellent schooling, but they don’t end there. Fortunately, Seaton is well-positioned to become a place where your family can put down roots for generations. This is thanks to the number of jobs and businesses the community will support.
Seaton will be home to a massive innovation corridor that provides thousands upon thousands of high-paying careers – again, within a fast and stress-free commute. When you live where you work, you have more time for the people and activities you love.
Seaton: Where It’s All About Convenience
Taking all day to run the weekly errands is no longer feasible with the frantic pace of modern life, which means cities and neighbourhoods are evolving to keep up. Hence, the rise of the “15-Minute Neighbourhood.” It’s a new trend where community planners aim to ensure everything a resident could ever need is no more than 15 minutes away by car.
Seaton is more like a 5-Minute Neighbourhood, because everything will be almost instantly accessible. Shops, restaurants, parks, libraries, and a dynamic community centre are all at the heart of the community, making it easy to get where you want to go or enjoy any activity you want to participate in.
Seaton offers a high quality of life, but it’s also designed with travel in mind. In fact, with easy access to the Go Train, downtown Toronto is more accessible from here than in many neighbourhoods actually in Toronto.
